Take a smattering of vintage Allman Brothers Band, a dash of Stevie Ray Vaughan, a spoonful of James Burton, a dollop of Danny Gatton and a pinch of Jerry Reed, throw them all into a big old pot and you've got  Alonzo Pennington.  A satisfying musical stew that’s guaranteed good for the soul!  

Alonzo is a multi-award-winning guitar player who’s been performing his own music since he was 13.  Casting a respectful nod to his musical heroes, Alonzo adds his passion, energy and drive to create a soulful and unique blend of rock, country and blues that’s all his own.  

Alonzo has been fortunate go grow up around and learn his craft from some of the world’s best guitar players.  Alonzo cut his teeth playing alongside his father, respected and renowned thumb picker, Eddie Pennington.  Family friend and international guitar god Tommy Emmanuel said, “you’re great and the world needs to hear you!”  And, they will.  

Alonzo recently finished a stint playing guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and singing back-up vocals for country music legend John Michael Montgomery.  While working for JMM, Alonzo was fortunate enough to play for him at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN.  One of Alonzo's highest accomplishments yet.

Alonzo is keenly aware of the ailing economy and how it affects everyone's budget.   Alonzo can work solo, as a 3-piece unit, or with the full compliment of keyboards and horns.  Either option you choose, you’re guaranteed a crowd-pleasing performance!
